Working in partnership with our parents is of prime importance to us as we know this ensures each individual child has the most effective learning experience with us. Sharing information with you about your child’s day gives you peace of mind, knowing that whilst apart, your child is safe, happy and receiving a solid foundation to their early education.
As parents, you are your child’s first and most important teacher, and the success of our curriculum is dependent on a close working relationship between us, and effective two-way communication. Every child’s journey at nursery is unique. Ensuring our staff have the knowledge and means to plan effective teaching, and to accurately observe and asses children’s progress, is essential to ensure they fulfil their potential. To support this, we use a system called Blossom.
Blossom is a parent app and online children’s learning journal which we use to document children’s development and achievements. We also use it to share important information and photos of children’s days with parents, and for parents to share information with us.
Blossom can be accessed via a parent app and is a fully secure system, enabling parents to contribute to their children’s learning and also to share special moments from home. This helps their child’s key person to have a truly holistic view of a child’s development.
Observations from nursery and home, together with photos and videos of magical milestone moments in a children’s life culminate to provide parents with a treasured memento of their child’s time at our nursery.
Parents are encouraged to use Blossom and share photographs and stories about their child’s achievements at home. This helps us plan activities specific to each child’s development, interests and home experiences.

Through our parent app, Blossom, we share diary timelines of your child’s activities at nursery so that you can cherish those golden moments.
Our parents are given lots of opportunities to be involved in nursery life, including attending coffee mornings, social events and various workshops such as language and behaviour management. These events give parents the opportunity to obtain guidance to support their child in the best possible way.
Data security is of prime importance to us and Blossom benefits from the highest level of data security.
We work together with Blossom to ensure complete safeguarding. Your data is stored and backed up frequently on cloud-based secured servers so it can never be lost.
Blossom servers are hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which are in the EEA. AWS and include broad security certification and accreditation, data encryption at rest and in-transit, hardware security modules and strong physical security. AWS is used by many of the largest conglomerates in the world including banks, so you can be assured of your data security.
All passwords are encrypted so only you as parents and us as your child’s nursery have access to your child’s information. Blossom gives us complete control for safeguarding children within our nursery by allowing access to the platform on authorised devices only.
