Choosing a nursery is a big decision, and as a parent, you naturally want to know what your child’s day will look like. At Inspire Montessori, every day is a blend of exploration, independence, and meaningful learning experiences. Here’s a glimpse into what a typical day looks like for our children.
Morning Welcome & Settling In
As children arrive, they are warmly welcomed into our nurturing environment. We encourage a gentle transition from home to nursery, allowing children to greet their friends, engage in independent activities, or join a morning circle to set the tone for the day. This calm and inviting start helps children feel secure and ready to explore.
Montessori Work Cycle: Learning Through Play
The Montessori work cycle is a special part of our day, where children have uninterrupted time to engage in purposeful activities. They freely choose from a range of carefully designed Montessori materials that promote hands-on learning in areas such as:
- Practical Life Skills – pouring, sorting, and tidying up to build independence and coordination.
- Sensorial Exploration – discovering textures, colours, and shapes to refine their senses.
- Early Mathematics – counting, matching, and sequencing activities that introduce numeracy in a fun, engaging way.
- Language & Literacy – phonics, storytelling, and mark-making to build strong early communication skills.
- Creative Arts – painting, music, and movement to encourage self-expression.
Outdoor Adventures & Physical Play
Fresh air and movement are vital for young learners! Our children spend plenty of time outside in our all-weather outdoor area, where they can explore nature, develop their gross motor skills, and engage in imaginative play. Whether it’s balancing on stepping stones, gardening, or discovering insects in our outdoor learning space, children develop confidence and resilience through their interactions with the natural world.
Lunchtime: Nurturing Healthy Habits
Meal times are more than just eating; they’re an opportunity for children to develop independence and social skills. Children help to set the table, serve their own food, and practise good table manners while enjoying a nutritious, balanced meal.
Our food is all freshly prepared on the premises by our wonderful nursery chef using fresh ingredients to give your child all the nutrients they need to support their growth and learning.
Afternoon Activities & Group Time
The afternoon offers a mix of structured group activities and free play. This may include:
- Music and Movement – dancing, singing, and rhythm-based activities to support coordination and confidence.
- Storytelling & Reflection – winding down with a story, sharing thoughts, and discussing the day’s adventures.
- Sensory and Messy Play – engaging with water, sand, or playdough to encourage exploration and creativity.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Interspersed throughout the week, our children have access to an incredible range of extra-curricular activities, including things like, yoga, sports lessons, language classes and even I.T.
Home Time: A Happy End to the Day
As the day comes to a close, children gather their belongings, reflect on their activities, and say goodbye to friends and teachers. Parents receive updates on their child’s progress, ensuring they stay connected with their little one’s learning journey.
Experience It for Yourself!
